About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Finishing Manager to support the delivery of a live residential development in Haywards Heath (Sussex), consisting of approximately 70 traditional build units. Working alongside the existing site team, the successful candidate will take responsibility for internal finishes, snagging, and ensuring plots are completed to a high standard ready for customer handover. This is a freelance position offering an immediate start and competitive day rate.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage final stages of construction across multiple plots, with a focus on internal finishes and quality
Oversee snagging, defect resolution, and readiness for customer handover
Coordinate with subcontractors and trades to ensure timely progress
Maintain build quality in line with NHBC and internal standards
Liaise with the customer care team to ensure smooth handover process
Ensure all work complies with health & safety regulations
Keep accurate site records and report progress against the programme
Requirements
Proven experience as a Finishing Manager or Site Manager within volume residential developments
Strong knowledge of traditional build construction and finishing standards
SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certifications (current)
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality delivery
Strong organisational and communication skills
Able to work independently and drive performance on site
